Ajile Awarded Best Paper at SPIE Photonics West
Ajile Light Industries has been awarded best paper for structured light 3D imaging of reflective objects at Photonics West, presented by SPIE and Texas Instruments DLP Products
Research conducted by Ajile Light Industries has been recognized at SPIE Photonics West 2019 with the award for Best Paper at the conference for Emerging Digital Micromirror Device Based Systems and Applications XII. The award, sponsored by Texas Instruments DLP Products was presented by the conference chair John Ehmke of Texas Instruments.
Structured light 3D imaging has several advantages over other approaches such as passive stereo vision or time-of-flight cameras, and in particular the area scan method used here is fast, accurate, and does not require moving parts to capture a complete image. Improvements to image processing algorithms along with hardware and optical configurations are constantly making this approach more useful in real world applications.
Ajile has built expertise in working with structured light applications through development of flexible and powerful tools using DMD technologies. Our high speed controllers and projectors and being used around the world in R&D and industrial applications such as medical imaging, machine vision, telecommunications, metrology and quality assurance, in addition to 3D imaging.
